SPAM: Paulette Live, Friday, April 30th with a Zombie Movie.

I'm playing Friday April 30th at the Krowswork gallery in Oakland.  As I understand it, I'll play 3 short sets, totalling about 30 or 45 minutes of music.
Show starts at 6:00 p.m.
480 23rd Street
Oakland, CA
The event is a sneak preview, so besides a short opening set, I'll play during one or two intermissions.
here is a song I made for the occasion and will sing live.
And here's a song i recorded today.  In it, I'm playing music with another human being, my friend Erik Pearson.
Lately, A lot of people have been asking me what it's like to do my webcast, and I tell them, "It's difficult and strange to play for people you can only see on the computer."  I prefer to actually be in the same room as the people i play for, but since it's hard to find halls large enough to hold the crowds I draw, I'm relegated to these webcasts.
It's gotten to the point where, if you count the other musicians and bands and staff, I'll consistently get anywhere from 4 to 15 people coming to a show, and it's overwhelming.  I'm overwhelmed, the venue is overwhelmed, and the towns we play in are overwhelmed.  I love being whelmed, but not overwhelmed.
I realize the webcast is a compromise, but I'm willing to sacrifice quality for audience size and convenience.
Love Always,

CANNED LUNCHEON MEAT: Eagle Tavern footage and yardage

Dear Spam Victim,
As I'm absolutely certain you're all aware, the band I'm in now, boatclub, we played last night at the Eagle Tavern in sunny san francisco, the town that has streets.  It was fun.
We played 10 songs, and the set list was as follows.
Beautiful Flower (Matt Piucci)
My Friends (John Thoman)
Around i feel u (Mark Hanley)
Problem Sammy Now (matt)
Vicki (mark)
Audio from Silent (mark)
Creosoda (instrumental)
What She's Done to Your Mind (matt)
Transgender(ed) (paulette)
It's a People's World (mark)
Blue (Matt)
Here's video of us playing Transgendered for about 5 minutes.  I'm wearing a wig, a pink hoodie, faux leopard-skin pants and running shoes.
It's hard to hear matt's guitar playing, so that kind of sucks.  There are actually some loud "YEAH'S" from the audience, so maybe we connected with some of them.
The sound system at the bar was good so it made it fun to play, and the people there were rather friendly in a good way.

Deletable SPAM: Too things

Hi Lovely People,
Two Things:
As you know, I'm now on the internet in the form of a "webcast", and it's like having a radio show with video.
I'm having my second show on
04/14/2010: 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm
Paulette Plays Music and talks about nothing
If anybody wants to play music or sing with me on the show, let me know.
Thing 2
I'm in a band called "boatclub".
here's the website.
We're playing at the EAGLE TAVERN in sunny san francisco, CA
Thurs April 15th:
(ex Rain Parade!)
(of The Dicks)
If you come to see me, just know that we will play my song, "Transgendered,"and maybe another one if the mood is right.  I'm trying to sell the band on the gay marriage song since there might be some gay people in attendance.
Bring your chaps!!!
