I partied by myself yesterday, July 4, while making this painting of a view in Oakland's Tilden Park. A lot of people think "Tilden" is in Berkeley, but it's really in Oakland even if credible authorities disagree.

There are a lot of plants on the hills. |
I didn't do a lot of foraging through the bush, but when I got home there was a tick attached to my right shin.

Fun Loving Tilden Tick |
It hadn't really started eating, but it had bored its little head into my beautiful creamy flesh, and so I grabbed onto its body with my bare hands and pulled it out, wondering what the f#$k I was supposed to do with it. I gave it a little squeeze, but it was bony and didn't squash, so I put it on my table and it fell into my wall to wall carpet. The carpet kind of matched the colors of the tick, so I had trouble finding it. In fact, I gave up at one point but went back to looking after a short break, and voila, there it was, walking around in my apartment. So i put it in a plastic bag because I didn't know what else to do with it.
The painting is for sale and will eventually be up on ebay after it dries. It's 9" x 12" on canvas board, painted over another painting, and I can send you the tick for no additional charge.
