Paulette Attempts Soulfulness Through "Jazz"
Dear Reader,
A lot of you have been telling me, "Paulette, I'm sick
of those songs you write, don't you ever play
instrumental jazz with a tenor sax player?" And it
just so happens that recently I was recording cuts for
a new jazz album I'm working on called, "Broadway."
We plan to release it when gas hits $10.00 a gallon,
so it should come out any time now. You can even hold
your breath in anticipation, knowing full well that
you are in absolutely no danger of passing out.
The sax player is my neighbor and friend, Erik
Pearson, who is a great musician. And the tune is
Duke Ellington's "Mood Indigo" which is a nice way to
say "depressed." See if you can hear the depression
dripping out of your speakers when we're not talking
about how I missed a measure or two.
I didn't solo on it because i don't know the song
hardly, but i'll be up and soloin' in no time to beat
that $10.00 deadline.

lovely person.
