Dreams Can Come True

This is the miracle shredder.

A number of years ago, I went through my old bills and tax documents and bank records and medical records and all manner of personal documents, and I thinned the herd.  I took out all the old stuff I could take out.  And so I had a grocery bag full of personal information that I needed to dispose of, that I needed to shred.  I looked up document shredding companies and maybe I was overwhelmed by my choices because I never settled on one, but I took the heavy bag out of my house and put it in the back of my car where I would look at it every time I opened my trunk for over a year, maybe even longer, I lost track.  It could have been 3 years.  It was in the trunk for a long, long time.  Sometimes the trunk would leak, so the paper would warp up, and I found mildew on some of it.  The bag eventually tore, but it still kind of held the papers in one area of my trunk.

My cousin had a shredder, but he lived in another part of the world, and I didn’t want to sit in his house office for 2 hours, making a mess, shredding papers.  I looked at it and thought, “Wow, It would be so great to shred my trunk documents.”

I used to have a document shredder, but it was mostly useless, a small, heavy waste of money.  You could put up to 1 document in it at a time, and it constantly jammed.  I think I put it out on the street for some masochist savoring misery.

And then, miraculously, about three months ago,  somebody on my block left a document shredder out on the sidewalk for grabs, for free, voluntarily, with the capacity for 9 sheets of paper at a time.  I could feel the weight of my document bag lifting.  It was nice, a nice feeling of relief.

I’m not sure how much point there is to shredding documents what with huge internet security breaches in companies like Equifux and Bunk of america, but I feel that the beehive, the cosmos, Allah has blessed me with a miracle, providing me with this document shredder.  And I’m telling you this story to give you hope for the miracles that you want to happen in your life.
